Yorba Regional Animal Hospital and Pet Resort has been on Facebook since February. We have had loads of fun communicating with our clients and their friends, and running monthly contests. Join us on Facebook and you can enter our pet contests too. February’s was a Free Dental Package. In March we gave away a Rattlesnake Avoidance Class. April’s winner received 4-Full Days of Deluxe Boarding and all Necessary Vaccines and our May winner received a Free Grooming. The June/July Patriotic Contest had a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. CONGRATULATIONS go to “Peanut” for winning a Complete Wellness Package. Check out all three Patriotic Contest winners on our Facebook Contest Winners page. August’s winner received a hand painted portrait of her dogs. This very special oil painting done by artist Anna Vanover is posted on our Facebook page. In September Wendy won a free nail trim and all necessary vaccines. With October already behind us we would like to Congratulate Donna and her dog Lucy. Lucy receives $50 of free services or supplies from anywhere in our pet hospital, boarding, or grooming.

Dental Health Special

This year were are extending this special until further notice ! Most complete dental packages cost approximately $475. Because we believe prevention is the best medicine our Dental Special is only $299.

Rattlesnake Avoidance Classes

Rattlesnakes are prevalent in our area and were out in abundance last year. Because they are camouflage hunters people and pets who are bitten may never see the snake until it’s too late. Most dogs smell a rattlesnake well before they see or hear it. Rattlesnake Avoidance Training helps your dog identify the danger and know to AVOID it. Rattlesnake bites can be deadly if quick treatment is not obtained. This treatment includes antivenin and is extremely costly. The bruising and subsequent skin sloughing that can occur after a rattlesnake bite is very painful and requires additional veterinary treatment.

At Yorba Regional Animal Hospital we want to help you protect your dogs before they encounter a rattler. We now offer Rattlesnake Aversion Classes periodically from spring through summer and sometimes into fall. Classes are offered with trainer Richard (Andy) Andrews. Andy has over 15-years of Rattlesnake Aversion Training experience and has trained thousands of both hunting dogs and family pets. The cost of our classes is $65 per dog and are limited to 25 dogs per day. We will be starting classes again soon. Our next class will be held on Saturday April 27th with another class to follow on Sunday June 2nd. Laparoscopic Gastropexy Special

Is your best friend a large dog? If so he or she may be prone to getting a Gastric Torsion, commonly known as bloat. A gastric torsion occurs when a dog’s stomach becomes twisted inside the abdomen, blocking the flow of food and blood to the stomach. Dogs with an untreated torsion will usually die within a few hours. Deep chested dogs are most prone to Gastric Torsions some of these breeds include Rottweilers, Great Danes, German Shepherds, Weimaraners, Standard Poodles and Labrador Retreivers. You can usually prevent gastric torsion in your dog with a minimally invasive laparoscopic surgical procedure called Gastropexy. This procedure allows a veterinarian to tack the outer lining of the stomach to the abdominal wall. When healed this strong bond helps prevents the stomach from twisting.

At Yorba Regional Animal Hospital we have the ability to perform this surgery using state-of-the-art laparoscopic techniques for your dog that reduce the incision site to approximately 2 inches.

A Laparoscopic Gastropexy can cost upwards of $1,500. We are offering to perform this life saving procedure on your dog for $750. Please mention your interest in gastropexy to the receptionist when making an examination appointment. Your pet’s veterinarian will go over all details of the surgery and answer any questions you may have.
